Social Anxiety Group in Minneapolis–St. Paul

Change is Easier in Good Company

Small, screened groups where the change happens with other people, not just in conversation about them.

Why a Group?

Social anxiety is, at its core, a fear of being watched, judged, found wanting, by other people. That's exactly what makes it so hard to think your way out of on your own. You can understand the pattern completely and still feel your heart race the second it's your turn to speak.

A group meets the fear where it actually lives. The room itself is the practice, a place to be seen, to speak, to sit with the discomfort and discover it's survivable, surrounded by people who feel the very same thing. Over a few weeks, the thing you've been quietly avoiding becomes something you've done, on purpose, again and again.

It's less exposing than it sounds.

These groups are built to feel manageable from day one. They're small, 8 people, maximum. Everyone is screened in a private one-on-one conversation first, so you'll have already met me before you walk in, and you'll know something about who else is in the room. Nothing gets sprung on you. Nobody gets put on the spot. We start where it's tolerable and build from there, together.

Two Groups, Sorted by Age

The groups are split by age for one simple reason: it's easier to open up among people at a similar point in life, facing similar things. Both groups do the same core work, they just start from common ground.

Ages 18-30

The years when you're supposed to be building a life: a career, friendships, relationships, are brutal years to spend anxious. This group is for the version of social anxiety that shows up in first jobs and grad school, in dating and the endless drafting of a text before you send it, in friendships that feel harder to make than they used to. If a lot of your connecting happens behind a screen and the in-person version feels like a different language, you're in the right room.

Ages 31 and Up

By this point, social anxiety has usually had years to shape things quietly: the meetings you don't speak up in, the promotions you didn't chase, the invitations you found reasons to decline, the friendships that thinned out. This group is for the people who can see what the avoidance has cost and are ready to change the pattern, whether that's speaking up at work, showing up at your kid's school events, or dating again after a long time away.

Warm, softly lit sitting room with a tufted couch and wood floors — the kind of calm space a social anxiety group meets in.
